Yesterday i finished a 3 day ITIL Foundation course at work and i have to say it baffled the hell out of me; attempting to remember functions and processes of IT Service Management in 3 days was a bit intense - i can barely remember what i did last week!

This morning was exam day for course, and i did not get a wink of sleep last night with having things like Change Management, Capacity Management and underlying courses whizzing round my mind - no i didn’t.  This was my second attempt at passing the exam which i failed it previously by one mark; you have to get a mark of 26 (65%) from 40 to pass.  So this morning i nervously attended the exam centre and took my seat in the Prometric exam room - with a camera and microphone monitoring me so that i did not cheat (as if i would!).  The trouble with the ITIL exam questions is the way they are worded and how they attempt to catch you out with the questions and answers, you have to look out for the “weasel words” as my tutor used to tell me like ‘must’ and ‘not’ etc.

The online exam that i did was the one where you get the ‘pass’ or ‘fail’ answer there and then when the exam is finished, and my hand was shaking as soon as i finished answering the 40th question and hit the ‘next’ button to reveal my answer; i am glad to say that i passed the exam with a mark of 29 out of 40 and you would not believe how relieved i feel, my desk manager is happy because it is another member of the team that has got the qualification.
