But with millions of people of different faiths, spiritual, not spiritual, praying and pleading for her safe return, it's difficult not to question whatever faith or spirituality you have when nothing happens. The worry, time and resources, and uncalled for criticism towards the Portugal police is all down to their selfish and uncaring attitude. I hope that when these "parents" finally return to the UK, the social services take a serious look at their right to have children in their care. I DO agree that it was irresponsible for the parents to leave their children alone, especially in a foreign country, however I believe that it was just a stupid act, that was not properly thought through and which they must now pay the consequences for. You can see from the Television pictures of the mother holding Madeleines favourite toy, that even though her child has been abducted, she is still showing such a loving and caring image for her daughter. And the fact that they are staying in Portugal shows courage and determination. I too was critical of their actions, but that must now be left in the past and concentrate on now and getting Madeliene home. I must disagree with Michaels response.
