Madeleine McCann
Looking through the news stories at the bank holiday weekend, the biggest shock that i saw was the disappearance of little Madeleine McCann. A disappearance of anyone’s young child must be every parents worst nightmare, especially since i became an uncle for the first time over a week ago and cannot imagine my baby niece being harmed in anyway; at times like this when you see these terrible events being shown in the news, it makes you more and more protective over the love ones closest to you.
I cannot imagine how poor Madeleine’s parents must be feeling right now, but i really hope and wish that their daughter will be found safe and returned to them, i don’t think it is appropriate at the moment to keep questioning the circumstances of Madeleine’s disappearance like the press have been doing, but the main objective at the moment is for the police to find her as quickly as possible and return her to her parents.
I will be making my wishes over the coming days that she will be found safe and well.

I really hope that they find this beautiful little girl. Why such heart ache has to come to those so innocent.
I will pray for you Maddy and for your parents, and hope that you will be re-united soon.

I think the whole thing has taken it’s toll on so many people, I personally am totally drained by it, how can people do such an evil thing. But with millions of people of different faiths, spiritual, not spiritual, praying and pleading for her safe return, it’s difficult not to question whatever faith or spirituality you have when nothing happens.

The parents of this little girl are not fit to have children, to leave their kids like they did is totally irresponsible and selfish.
The worry, time and resources, and uncalled for criticism towards the Portugal police is all down to their selfish and uncaring attitude.
I hope that when these “parents” finally return to the UK, the social services take a serious look at their right to have children in their care.

I must disagree with Michaels response. I DO agree that it was irresponsible for the parents to leave their children alone, especially in a foreign country, however I believe that it was just a stupid act, that was not properly thought through and which they must now pay the consequences for.
You can see from the Television pictures of the mother holding Madeleines favourite toy, that even though her child has been abducted, she is still showing such a loving and caring image for her daughter. And the fact that they are staying in Portugal shows courage and determination.
I too was critical of their actions, but that must now be left in the past and concentrate on now and getting Madeliene home.

I’m sorry but no parent should ever leave children so young alone. “A stupid act”, its totally irresponsible, no other words for it.
I totally agree with Michael, when the parents return to the UK the social services should be there to take the children away.
The McCanns defense was that thousands of other people in their position would of done the same. Maybe they would of but that doesnt justify them doing it.

I don’t think the parents of Maddie should be critisised. They are already going through enough without critisism. I hope Madeleine is returned to her parents soon and I pray for both her and her family.
