Sunflower Power
Millions of people around the world rely on their motor vehicle for transport not realising the effect on the environment. With many of us are becoming more environmentally conscious as well as being fed up with the continueing petrol and oil price rises, many people are converting their original diesel engine motorcar to run on vegetable oil or sunflower oil for half the price of petrol or diesel fuel at the pumps; plus a car running on vegetable oil
is carbon neutral and therefore does contribute to CO2 in the atmosphere. Vegetable oil is a renewable and not a fossil fuel so it does not contribute to global warming, and by using veggie oil you are making a positive evironmental move where it matters most in the one thing in our lives that is the biggest polluter; the motor car!
Vegetable oil has cleaner emissions and is better for your engine, as there is massively less sulphur dioxide than that of normal diesel engines and is cleaner for our environment. Vegetable oil is also less expensive than Diesel, you can pick up a litre bottle of Vegetable oil from your local supermarket for less than £0.50p a bottle, compare this to the current price of £0.98p litre of Diesel at the pumps, then you can see how much money you can save.
Rudolf Diesel originally designed his engine to run on any kind of oil, but it was only until the petrochemical industry created their heavy oil petroluem by-product, that we started to see diesel engine road fuel appear on the market. Way back in 1900 when Rudolph Diesel was demonstrating his engine (that was running on Peanut oil) at the World Trade Exhibition in Paris, he stated that Vegetable oil would be one day be as significant as petroluem oil as a fuel.
